I'm not really a union type gal, but no one said I _had_ to take this job, but I really need the paycheck, but the union will likely fine members who scab (how much, I don't know, but its likely to be a hefty amount), but I _really_ need the paycheck, but...

My sense of honor says, "Noone made you join" so I think that and the fine will keep the picketers safe from the likes of me.
Still, I hope I get that job at Trader Joe's. They're not union.

I've never worked for a union. I don't know how I'd react to a strike. The union has funds set aside for striking members don't they?

But if you need the paycheck...I'm sure it's not the same as if you cross the line.
If I were going to cross a picket line I think I'd ask the employer to compensate me. Just because of the union backlash. Some of the strikes can get nasty.
